Salma Hayek Pinault, Alfonso Cuarón, and Alejandro González Iñárritu are set to co-host London's exclusive Serpentine Summer Party this year, marking a significant milestone in the event's history. These renowned Mexican film stars will join forces with Michael R. Bloomberg, Chairman of the Serpentine's board of trustees, Bettina Korek, CEO, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, artistic director, to host the 25th Serpentine Architecture Pavilion. This architectural commission, which began with Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry, and Oscar Niemeyer in 2000, has become a global platform for showcasing emerging and mid-career architects. The 2026 Pavilion, titled 'a serpentine', is designed by Mexico City-based practice LANZA atelier, blending British and Latin American aesthetics through the use of brick. Hayek Pinault, Cuarón, and Iñárritu, all Oscar-nominated, share a passion for Latin American culture and its global impact. Hayek Pinault emphasizes the importance of Latin American voices and creativity in the center of global culture, while Cuarón and Iñárritu highlight the connection between architecture and cinema, with LANZA atelier's design breathing life into its surroundings. The evening will feature a creative collaboration with LANZA atelier, bringing Mexican flavors to life through food, and will showcase emerging British fashion designers. This event promises to be a celebration of art, culture, and architecture, with a special focus on the Latin American influence in London's Kensington Gardens.
